Gathering elastic is intended to be sewn into fabrics to give them a beautiful gathered effect. You roll the gathering elastic onto a bobbin, stretching it slightly. You can then use it as the bobbin thread in your sewing machine. For the top thread, use regular sewing thread. You can also lay the gathering elastic out over your fabric of choice. Then, use a zigzag stitch to sew over the elastic. You can then gently pull the elastic taut and secure the ends with the sewing machine or by hand. Each spool of gathering elastic contains 15 meters of elastic.
